Hype Lines

Most people just know the chorus to songs and only sing along when it comes on. But in every song there is always that one line that EVERYBODY chimes in on. It’s the line that everyone yells out in some sort of dramatic way. That’s the hype line.

Here are a few hype lines from random songs, both old and new (there may be some expletives in here):

Waka Flocka Flame – Rooster In My Rari

Throwing dough, throwin dough
Throwing dough, throwin dough

There are so many more songs and so many more hype lines out there. Apparently the more vulgar they are the more we like them. We don’t know why, but we just remember those lines. It just happens. We can’t help it. But just remember, when you’re chillin’ in the club posted up in the corner, make sure you turn up with everybody else during the hype lines!

Relatable: Arctic Monkeys’ Do I Wanna Know

This song is literally so sexy. Honestly, I think that the beat and the vibe set the perfect mood for sex. Every time I hear this song I imagine it being the backdrop to a sex scene in a movie or a TV show. It just seems appropriate. I can just picture how incredibly hot the scene would be.

But upon actually listening to the lyrics of the song, it goes much deeper than just sex. It’s like a strong ballad made for those of us who have been in love before and had our hearts broken to pieces yet we still go back looking for more. It’s like people become a drug to us and even though they hurt us we still have the hope that things might change and that the next time will be different. False hope can truly get a person higher than any dope.

This song speaks of the struggle of a seemingly unrequited love or a love that once was but is there no longer. It is a battle of love and lust where all you really want to do is be with the person but you have no idea whether they feel the same or not. That’s the worst feeling. You don’t know whether the feelings are one sided or if the person ever really cared for you as much as you did for them. Being the one to always pick up the phone first or being the first to send a text gets really frustrating and discouraging. Yet you know that you keep crawling back to that person because you still want them in your life.

The song makes me feel so many mixed emotions. When I really think about it, I don’t know if I want to smile or frown, laugh or cry, or just go have sex. It’s like the song takes me through ups and downs but it always manages to get me thinking of sex just because I think the beat is so rugged and seductive; provocative even. It’s truly amazing how one song can make you feel so many things. That’s what I call good music.

Relatable: Paramore’s “Still Into You”

Let me just start off by saying that this is an absolutely beautiful song. It’s so upbeat and playful and happy; it can easily make anyone smile.

The song is about still loving someone even after being together for a very long time. No matter the ups and downs and how difficult some times may get, you’re still into that person. You know they’re worth sticking around for. They can can make you upset and drive you near insanity at times but when you’re close together and hold hands it doesn’t even matter.

It’s the type of love where people wonder how in the world you managed to stay together for so long, but you don’t even have to question it because you just know you were meant to be together.

It’s wonderful to still be able to  get butterflies from seeing someone that you’ve been with for such a long time. The fact that that spark has not left is a true testament to how into that person you actually are. The song mentions the start to forever, so for someone to be thinking about a future with someone else is a very big deal in a relationship.

I love this song because it applies so much to real life. I have seen many relationships where to the naked eye it seems like they just argue all the time or something of the sort, but the trained eye can see that they do not want to have a world without each other.

Top 15 Rock & Metal Bands Currently On My Playlist

There are a lot of amazing rock and metal bands out there. And I mean  lot. But there are a few more modern ones that I always go back to no matter what mood I’m in.

I tried doing a top 10, but I felt like I was leaving some important names out; so here is a list of the top 15 bands currently on my playlist right now:

1. Slipknot

I absolutely adore this band. Because of them, I was able to get into heavier music. They are so hardcore and raw that their songs just excite me. But what I like the most is that their lead singer can go from growling in rap infused metal kind of way to singing the most beautiful melody you’ve ever heard.

2. System of a Down

They’re a political metal band. Every song they have has a purpose and a meaning. Their music is entertaining and great to vibe to and they also range from incredibly fast paced songs to softer melodies.

3. Disturbed

Lyrics. They’re geniuses when it comes to lyrics. Their songs are high energy but also recount stories and describe scenarios. They have some really deep and powerful songs and honestly, I just can’t help but sing along every time.

4. Paramore

Love, love, love this band. Their songs are more sweet and soft compared to other bands on this list, but their songs hold so much meaning behind them and are incredibly relatable. Plus, I may have a slight girl crush on their lead singer.

5. Linkin Park

Heart. Soul. Intensity. These all describe this band perfectly. Their songs are so powerful and so real. Anyone can vibe to this band.

6. Fall Out Boy

They’re one of my feel-good bands. I always get in a happier mood after listening to these guys. Their songs are fun and  playful but still have an edge to them.

7. Panic! At The Disco

This is another one of my feel-good bands. Their songs are so creative and fun to listen to. Their creativity is portrayed in their videos as well. I also think it’s interesting how a lot of their songs have super long titles.

8. Bullet for my Valentine

Their guitar riffs and solos are awesome. Simply beautiful. Their songs have deep meaning as well and when you listen closely you can tell there is a story behind them as well. They’re another band that can range from growling songs to singing.

9. As I Lay Dying

Wonderful band with a message behind every song. They’re so hardcore and their guitars are just sick and their drums are so awesome. I love everything about them. Fair warning, the untrained ear won’t be able to understand anything they say. I was quite proud of myself when I learned to understand them.

10. Avenged Sevenfold

Awesome band. Awesome songs. Crazy instrumental talent. Great to headbang to. I can’t help but furiously tap my feet when I listen to them.

11. Papa Roach

papa roach

Lyrical geniuses as well. So many inspirational songs talking about real life struggles. Great for either hyping yourself up or getting in a more mellow mood depending on which songs you listen to.

12. Skillet

They’re a Christian rock band with lovely and powerful messages. Do not get thrown off by the Christian part; their songs are pretty awesome. The words are beautiful and they have some sick beats too. I don’t think I’ve ever heard the word “God” in their songs either, so if you did not know they were a Christian rock band you probably wouldn’t even figure it out; you’d just think the lyrics were sweet.

13. Green Day

green day

Classic punk rock band. They are anti “the man” and pro love. They have some really sad songs and then some songs that just make you want ot jump up and down and smash things. Listen closely though, they have some pretty lovely lyrics.

14. Muse

So much talent in this band. Definitely a band that delivers messages through song. Great to do air guitar to and pretend to sing your heart out. They have incredible instrumentals too.

15. The Offspring

This is a fun band. They don’t seem to take themselves too seriously. Their songs are high energy and great to jam to.
